I currently work as a threat researcher for a major SIEM company. Most of my focus is centered around building detections and discovering new attack campaigns which oftentimes this results in the discovery of new TTPs (tactics, techniques, and procedures).
Why x00.zip? Besides it sounding cool, and since everyone on the internet trusts the legitimacy of .zip domains, I figured why not. The x00 portion refers to the hexadecimal NULL character, hence “NULL_SEC”.
